On the day of my birthday itself, I had the pleasure of hosting a modelling workshop for my good friend Cherry and Century City Mall. I had a blast teaching young aspiring models some tricks of the trade that I learned in my years as a professional model in the industry.
Kids from all ages joined in on the action, making it all the more fun!
We started off with simple posing, proper posture, and communicating to the crowd with your eyes.
Next, we worked on how to model jewellery- one of the toughest to do in my opinion. Clothes and jewellery are two totally different things in terms of how to project it to the crowd. With jewellery your aim is to take everyone’s eyes off your face and clothes- and lead their attention to the piece your wearing.
Then we worked on our runway skills. Something that has taken me a long way, and one of my personal favourites. I saw potential runway models and even some beauty queens in the workshop! A lot of them were already naturals, working the runway like pros.
Modelling is something I hold close to my heart. I’ve learned so much not only in the fashion world, but also in business, and even in life! And because of it, I was able to travel all over the world, and work with some of the world’s major global brands and top notch designers.
Whether it be modelling, pageantry, or anything in life you are passionate about- pursue it. Go all out because you never know how far it will take you.
Thank you to everyone that participated! You guys rocked the stage!
